Independence 4th of July Celebration - July 3 & 4
Each year Independence hosts an all-out Fourth of July celebration complete with the oldest Independence Day parade in Iowa, a reading of our Declaration of Independence, non-stop live music at the pavillion in Riverwalk Parks, an all day volleyball tournament, a large food court, children's games, a stupendous and accessible fireworks display over the Wapsipinicon, and more. Rowley Days - Friday through Sunday, 4th Weekend of July
This hometown celebration opens on Friday night with softball and bags tournaments and a street dance. The tournaments continue into Saturday which opens with a 5k run and mid-morning parade. Add to this, children's games, food vendors, and a pool tournament and you have a recipe for old fashioned fun. The event closes on Sunday with a community worship service followed by a potluck lunch for all. More Information |

The event opens on Friday evening and continues through Saturday night. Highlights include a bags tournament and live music at the ball field on Friday; a tractorcade followed by a parade, more tournaments and games, a plate dinner, an auction, and more live music on Saturday; closing with a raffle drawing.
